Admissions Division
Functions of the Division
- Organization and coordination of undergraduate admissions.
- Custody of admissions regulations.
- Registration of students at the University and at affiliated institutions and keeping records of all students.
- Attending to queries and correspondences on admissions.
- Handling issues regarding change of programmes, study time, subject combinations, and withdrawal from the University.
- Liaising with UNEB on matters concerning O’ and A’ Level examination results.
- Custodian of students’ registry (personal files).
Examinations Division
Functions of the Division
- Organization, coordination and security of all University Examinations.
- Preparation of examination time-tables and monitoring the teaching of approved and accredited University academic programmes.
- Registration of candidates for examinations.
- Monitoring the marking and processing of examination results.
- Preparation and issuance of academic transcripts (full or partial transcripts) for all students awarded certificates, diplomas and degrees of Kyambogo University.
Extensions and Affiliated Institutions Division
Functions of the Division
- Coordination of all academic activities at affiliated institutions.
- Coordination of the development of academic programmes at affiliated institutions.
- Custody of all regulations for academic programmes offered at affiliated institutions.
- Monitoring the teaching of academic programmes at affiliated institutions.
- Liaison with the Examinations Division in the organization and administration of examinations at affiliated institutions.
Senate Division
Functions of the Division
- Coordination of University Senate business.
- Coordination of business of Senate Committees.
- Liaison with Faculties/Schools/Institutes on the development of new academic programmes.
- Coordination of Staff Development and Training matters.
- Responsible for graduation ceremonies and other academic ceremonies in the University.
- Preparation and issuance of certificates to all graduates awarded certificates, diplomas and degrees of Kyambogo University.
- Custody of all approved University programme regulations.
- Custody of all approved and accredited University academic programmes.
Graduate School
Functions of the Academic Registrar’s Representatives
The KyU Graduate School, headed by a Dean, is not a Division in the Department of the Academic Registrar. However, the Academic Registrar has Representative officers at the School who perform the following functions on behalf of the Academic Registrar:
(i) Organization and coordination of graduate admissions.
(ii) Custody of University graduate programme regulations.
(iii) Registration of graduate students at the University.
(iv) Custody of records of all graduate students.
(v) Attending to queries and correspondences on graduate studies.
(vi) Co-ordination of business for the Graduate Committee of Senate.
(vii) Liaison with Faculties/Schools/Institutes on the development of new academic graduate programmes.
